A few things about me:

I'm British.

My favourite relaxing passtime is knitting. In times past it used to be running (alas, not much since giving birth to my delightful daughter - one day I'll run a marathon again).

When I first came to Basel I brought with me only some clothes, 2 pairs of shoes, a shuttle computer (very small desktop PC, no monitor) and my cello in order to live a more simple life. It worked... for a while.

I am the eldest of three, my two other siblings being brothers, Dan and Tom.

There is a 13 year gap between me and my youngest brother.

I grew up in small southern villages in the UK.

I have a degree from the University of Sheffield in Mathematics and Philosophy.

I really wish there was a real fish and chip shop here in Basel. Just one. (Nordsee doesn't count!)

Same goes for a M&S.

In the right mood my eyes can change colour and become flurescent green.

I love taking pictures.

This family were one of my very first clients when I started out at the beginning of last year. We met at the BCT Bumps and Babes group with our first born. Little M is just a little bit younger than our Maia. I first met hubby at a Connexions Banquet (that I was taking pictures at) and we all sat on the same table together. From there and me handing out my very first mini business cards our first shoot together was arranged.

A couple of years later and this gorgeous mummy is due to have baby number two. I always love driving out to where they live – a beautiful half hour drive from Basel in stunning countryside – and it’s always a pleasure spending any time with them too. I’m very much looking forward to meeting your newest arrival and finding out if it’s a little boy or girl.

In the meantime, here is a sneak peak. I look forward to getting a call from you soon for our hospital shoot!

I’ve seriously enjoyed being a part of the development of this baby bump. We shared maternity session number three joined by daddy just a week or so before this little fella decided to join us in the world. Our post-it picture was a great idea from mum as little M had decided he wasn’t so bothered about turning and we wanted to capture this somehow.

He was born over in Zurich, so I enjoyed my little drive over from Basel to take some lovely pictures of M when he was just three days old. He is now the very lucky owner of one of my super soft sutecchi blankets too. Mummy and daddy were just bursting with smiles and love for their adorable little boy and so they should. He’s beautiful!

Apart from a wedding group, this is my biggest family group to date. Three brothers and one sister have all got partners and either children inside or outside of the belly. This lovely family were so easy to take pictures of and there was a beautiful big tree in the corner with just the right shaded light to frame them in. Thanks for making my job so easy and best of luck with the newest addition due in a few more months (can you guess which one is the expectant belly?). I hope you enjoyed your little break together in Alsace.

Session number 2 of three. This little baby is growing well and it was wonderful to see baby and proud mummy again. I was especially pleased that earlier that day I managed to also find a parasol – a search I thought was going to be futile.

I’d been keeping an eye on evening light and was hoping to catch some golden hour sun, but the weather just wasn’t co-operating. We managed to just get some outside shots in before it started to rain though, so we were happy. Here are some piccies, including the sneak peak from our previous session to show growth through the season changes.
