A few things about me:

I'm British.

My favourite relaxing passtime is knitting. In times past it used to be running (alas, not much since giving birth to my delightful daughter - one day I'll run a marathon again).

When I first came to Basel I brought with me only some clothes, 2 pairs of shoes, a shuttle computer (very small desktop PC, no monitor) and my cello in order to live a more simple life. It worked... for a while.

I am the eldest of three, my two other siblings being brothers, Dan and Tom.

There is a 13 year gap between me and my youngest brother.

I grew up in small southern villages in the UK.

I have a degree from the University of Sheffield in Mathematics and Philosophy.

I really wish there was a real fish and chip shop here in Basel. Just one. (Nordsee doesn't count!)

Same goes for a M&S.

In the right mood my eyes can change colour and become flurescent green.

I have been away in the UK for a nice long break recently and the main reason for this was so that I could be bridesmaid for my wonderful freind Pippa. We’ve known each other since University and met at Damflask reservoir as part of the University of Sheffield Rowing team. We became great friends, working in an Irish Pub together and also travelling together. My first ever long haul flight was with Pip to China in 2003. We were in Beijing for Chinese New Year, Chungdu, Xian and even had quite an adventure to Lhasa, Tibet. Happy memories.

Pip is quite a force of nature, if she wants to do something, it will be done. She’s raised tonnes of money for charity through her jobs and is just an amazing, steady person. When I first met Rich, I knew she’d finally found her man for life. The pair of them are such a great team and the nicest, chilled out couple. It was such a wonderfully perfect day for her wedding and everyone enjoyed a super great party too. It was a pleasure and an honour being one of your bridesmaids. Thank you!

~ Little boys and their big blue eyes ~

The eyes on these boys are just amazing. The little one has the longest lashes too. Just to die for. I think mama is going to have her work cut out with these two as they get older and charm all the lucky girls.

Always always a pleasure to see this family. It’s amazing following families as they grow, we have another session later in the year and I am already looking forward to it. Just a little shoot in the local park for now, these two photos were taken on the walk to the park:

~ Tulips and tummy time ~

I was spoilt rotten for cutie pies in front of my lens last weekend, including this beautiful little girl. After lots of rainy days and hibernating after the winter, I think this doll spent the first half of our shoot just wondering what on earth was happening. Sitting in a pretty tulip field wearing her best pretty dresses rather than mooching at home with mummy. Still, she was amazing and adorable.

I’m still super amazed by how amazing her mummy looks. This daddy is one lucky man indeed and doesn’t he know it!

I don’t know where the time flies to these days? It’s already May and the newborns that I took photos of at the beginning of the year are already having their second sessions and growing up far too fast. I didn’t end up blogging the newborn session for this little tiger. He is such a cutie-pie. A little bit of me fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. So much hair too! Gorgeous.
